DIE LIKE FLIES.
PRISONERS IN RUSSIA. Geneva, January 27, Nearly 37">,000 of the 500,000 AustroITungarian prisoners of war taken by Russians have perished in Siberia from smallpox and typhus, according to Yladivostock despatches to International Red Cross headquarters here. The rest were kept, alive only by the efficient work of Japanese, American and English doctors. East of Lake Baikal, Chinese physicians are also helping, but the work is difficult owing to the Bolshevik invasion.
