TAXATION OP BACHELORS. By Telegraph.—Pte:s Assn.—Copyrlslit. Paris, April 5. The Finance Committee of the Chamber adopted a 10 per cent tax on bachelors. EASTER RIOTS IN JERUSALEM. Jerusalem, April 5. There has been a serious conflict between Jews and Moslems, reaulting in 188 casualties. The situation is now well in hand. PERSIA TEMPTED BY RUSSIA. London, April 5. It is understood that the Persian Foreign Minister is considering the establishment of a good understanding between Persia and the Soviet Government of Russia, which has declared its intention of abolishing all treaties and concessions injurious to Persia. —Reuter. HUNGARY AND PEACE. London, April 5. The Times' Vienna correspondent writes: There is a possibility that Hungary will refuse the peace conditions. Count Apponyi, in an interview, stated that public opinion unanimously rejected the terms, which were considered unjust and dangerous to European peace. The correspondent adds that Count Apponyi is likely to decline to sign, but it is hard to believe that the Assembly will prefer the re-imposition of the blockade and other penalties.
