The Government valuations of the 1010-20 wool clip are practically finished. The clip is much shorter in staple and lower in condition than the previous clip, less wool being yielded per sheep. It is estimated that there will be fully 10 per cent, shortage. The North Island wools will bear the bigger proportion of this shortage. Indications point to finer wools bringing exceptionally high prices during the next few years, whilst it is doubtful whether lower quality will maintain the present valuations.
