The estimated requirements for food' purposes for one year were 0,000,000 bushels,- foV seed 500,000 bushels, for fowl 'feed 750,000 bushels, total 7,250,000.' Against that tlie New Zealand estimated yield was 4,000,000 bushels, balance of Australian purchase 2,000,000, carrv over on February 29, 750,000 bushels, total 7,650,000. Dowthwaite (Auckland) Silver W.vandottcs, u(jo e „„ Bj 2 ; Hon. C. H. Izard (Wellington), Black Orpingtons, 1117 eggs, 3. The duck contest resulted:—W. T. Green (Shirley), Indian runners, 1400 eggs, 1; J. Donald, (Masterton), Indian runners, 1323 ej&s, 2; R. M. Copland (Auckland), Indian runners, 1203 eggs, 3. L. Wadham (Masterton) won the single duck contest. J. Donald (Masterton) won the heavy breeds single hen contest, and the Waitoitoi Ptud Farm (Masterton) won the experimental house test.
