A very successful meeting was held by the above club on the Opunake racecourse at Pihama on Wednesday, some splendid finishes being witnessed, a tribute to the good work of tlie hnndlcappers. The judges were Messrs W. Lambie and A. Nellson, their decisions being prompt and correct. Messrs. F. TV, Mason and J. S. Tosland, the secretaries, worked hard to ensure a pleasant time 'for mll. The proceedings were enlivened by the Opunake Band. Near the finish of the eight-lap motor cycle race, F. J. Busing (Hawera) had the misfortune to burst ills front tyre, and machine and rider fell heavily. Busing was shaken about a good deal, and was unable to compete in the last event.
