A deputation of leading Smithfleld importers and distributors waited on Sir Thomas Mackenzie and urged him to secure a reduction in the controlled prices of Now Zealand mutton. They stated the* tiade was suffering severely bv cjmpetition with fresh Argentine mutton. Sir Thomas Mackenzie stated he had already strongly urged the Board of Trade to take the step suggested, and he would further approach the department on the subject.—Aus.-N-Z. Cable Assn.
