Midlikst, Stratford, EUham, Norraanby and Hawera Racecourse-. Special train leaves Wanganui for Hawera Racecourse at 0.40 a.m. and returns I leaving Hawera Racecourse at 5..'i0 p.m. This train stops where required to pick up or set down passengers. Special train leaves Ngaere for Stratford at 5.30 p.m. The usual 4.20 p.m. train New Ply-1 mouth-Hawcra leaves at 5.1)0 p.m., Hawera arrive 8.44 p.m. The usual 10.55 a.m. Wanganui-New Plymouth train will leave at 11.22 a.m., New Plymouth arrive 0.35 | p.m. The usual 4.0 p.m. train StratfordNew Plymouth will not run. For further -particulars see -booklets and posters. BY ORDEtf. NEW ZEALAND POLICE FORCE. RECRUITS WANTED. A PPLICATIONS are invited from suitable men desirous of enrolment as Constables in the New Zealand Police Force, which has many advantages in pay, emoluments, and pension, and offers a good and attractive career to young men possessed of the requisite qualifications as regards character, physique, and intelligence. The age-limits prescribed by Regulations are twenty-one to thirty years. Candidates who have not attained the age of twenty-one years will be accepted, provided they otherwise comply with the standard requirements, or are likely to fulfil them by the time they attain twenty-one years of age or within a reasonable time afterwards. The Standard of Education is Standard V., but in the case of Candidates under twenty-five years of age, a lower certificate will be accepted. Candidates received under the minimum age-limit will be given a course of Physical Training and Educational Instruction to bring them up to the standards. The scale of pay for Constables is £4 4s per week on appointment, rising by increments to £5 Is (id per week. A house allowance of 15a per week is also paid to married men not provided with free quarters. Free uniform is also provided.
