Thursday evening will be observed as the "late night" by the shopkeepers of Stratford. Mr. W. J. Crawshaw, manager of the local branch of the Bank of New Zealand, has returned from a holiday trip. Mr. T. J. Salmon, of the Farmers' Cooperative Association, who. broke his leg in a motor accident about seven weeks , ago, has been discharged from hospital, and is again able to walk about. A particularly attractive musical programme will be given at the Ngaere Gardens on Goad Friday. This 'delightful pleasure resort is gaining in popularity every week, and just now the garden's are looking very fine. The orchestral music will be provided by Mr. C. if. Fox's orchestra, and vocal and instrumental items will be contributed by talented performers. For Easter Monday another huge bill of attractions is being arranged. The Rev. R. B. Tinsley, Methodist Minister at Stratford, who has been transferred to the Addington Methodist Church, will be tendered a farewell social in the Church Hall to-morrow Wednesday) evening, at 8 o'clock. By advertisement in this issue, the chemists of Strafford announce several alterations in the hours during which their premises will be open for business from April Ist.
