The Hula Is expected to leave Wellington for New Plymouth to-day with a cargo of benzine. THE KOWHAI. The Union Company advise that the Kowhal Is to load coal at Westport for Niiw Plymouth, and that she Is expected to leave there at 5 pm. to-day. She is bringing abc>ut 900 tons and should reach here In time to commence discharging early on Wednesday morning. THE MAMARI. The departure of the Mamarl from Wellington for New Plymouth has been delayed a day on account of the wa.terslders at Wellington holding a atop-work meeting to-mor-row. The vessel will therefore not arrive here until Thursday. In addition to frozen meat, etc., she will lift 5000 crates of cheese at this port. ■ From Waltara and Wanganul the Mamarl will return to Wellington on April 15th t< ail up, and 13 to sail finally on April 20th. BAR CHANGES AT MANUKAU. A Gazette notice gives further warning to master mariners without local knowledge of the bar changes In Manukau harbor, stating that they should not attempt to cross the bar under half tide, and then only at such times when the semaphore and bar signals can be clearly seen. NEW SHAW, SAVILL STEASfERS. ''"' At the present time the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company are having built three new steamers for the New Zealand service—namely, tho Tairoa (builders, Messrs. Armstrong, Whltworth and Co, Newcastle-on-Tyne), the Maimoa (being built by Palmer's Shipbuilding and Iron Company, Hebburn-on-Tyne), and the Matakana (on the stocks of Messrs. Alexander Stephen and Sons, Goran Glasgow). All these vessels were contracted for a considerable time ago, but their building was tiiithJy slopped owing to the war, They are all "nrgo carriers of about 11,500 tons register, and they are fitted for the conveyance of very large quantities of refrigerator products All are twin-screw vessels Tho Tairoa and the Maimoa will be fitted with reciprocating engines, and the Matakana with reduction gear turbines.
