FARM LABOR.
SUPPLY EXCEEDS DEMAND. The supply of farm labor avilablc at present is said to be more than equal to the demand, and the consequence is that a number of applicants for this class of work, who have called during tile past few days at the Wellington employment bureau, have had to be turned away with a. polite "Nothiii" doing." A Now Zealand Times reporteer was informed that the demand for farm labor is usually fairlv brisk, and the bureau is generally able to meet nil applications. One applicant i« a man who repently arrived in New Zealand by assisted passage from England, and lus surprise may be imagined when lie was informed on seeking employment at the official quarter, that for the time being there was no iar\ work open to him.
