THE RACING DESCRIBED. NOTES BT "MOTUHOA." (By Telegraph.—Special to Daily News.) Bulls, Last Night. The Bangltlkei meeting concluded in perfect weather, and the attendance was again largo. The going was fast and the racing was keenly contested, splendid finishes being the order of the day. Taranakl horses recorded three firsts and two seconds. The six carded for the Great ford Handicap went to the post, ASilnome being sorted out as the beat of good things The field went k off smartly in line, Gold Problem and Astlnome being quickest on their feet. Astlnomo led Gold Problem and Bonnie Briar into the straight, with the others handy. Astl- ' nemo shook off Gold Problem, but Ruddy came with a nicely timed run and won by half a length. Gold Problem was a length and a half away third, followed by Egmont Park and Bonnie Briar. McConnac handled Ithe winner very cleverly. Empyrean. Ontallni. Big Tush, and Whetokt were withdrawn frcun the Ranglto Handicap, ten being saddled up. A great betting race saw Parorangl, Tempo, Nursing Sister, and Hepta all evenly supported. Tempo caused delay at the post, but eventually* a pood start was effected. Nursing Sister led Tempo I and Otauru Kid, but Tempo was in front at the end of two furlongs, and led Nursing i Sister, Otauru Kid. and Paonui into the: straight. Otauru Kid ran out wide, earning Paonui Tight out. Nursing Sister tackled Tempo at the distance, and March Oil and Paonlui came very fast. Nursing Sister appeared to win easily from Paonui, March On, and Tempo in that order, with Parorangi s'xth, but the - judge placed Nursing Sister, Parorangi, and Tempo in that order. After a demonstration, Paonui was placed third and Tempo fourth. Gratitude was the elect of ProsseT's stable In the Sandon Hack Hurdles, nine starting. Sweet Tipperary wag a very warm order. They went away together, Gratitude leading Diamond Nap and Signorella over the first fence and into the straight. Gratitude still led passing the stand, Khartoum being fourth and Bweet Tipperary next. Six furlongs from home Signotella. Tan into the lead, followod by Khartoum, Diamond Nap and Sweet Tlpperary. Signorella stopped at-the next fence, interfering with Khartoum, and Sweet Tipperary was left in front. Sweet Tipperary and Signorella both hit the second fence from home, and Khartoum and Ngakanul were first Into the straight. A goocr race home resulted in Khartoum scoring a meritorious victory- by a length from Ngakahui, Signorella was three lengths away third. Then came War Star, Lepanto, and Sweet Tipperary.
All acceptors weie saddled up for the Maiden Htvck Handicap, but Yankee Jack and Hautawa, were not allowed to start, being Ineligible under the conditions. Catallnl was about £IOO better favorite than Simon, and nothing else was seriously considered! Miss Lore, Big Push, Simon,' and Catnllnl were the order out of the tapes, and the flrstn&raed pair were together In .the lead along the back and right to the distance. Big Push then retired, and Simon and Catnllnl challenged Alias Love. Simon finished strongly and won nicely by a length, Miss Love Just beating Catallnl for second money. Whiz Bang was fourth and Big Push fifth. J Hyttus was the only withdrawal from the r-> Frnaei Memorial Stakes, and of the six runners, Affectation, with over a thousand ticket*, was a strong favorite, . Lovematch anel Nobleman being next In demand. Moutoa Ivanora, Affectation, and Nobleman were the flr»t to move and led past the stand, Zola being last. Along the back Lovematch ran
ur to Moutoa Ivanova and Affectation. Zola, and Nobleman were next. Lovematch was uplifts with Moutoa Ivanova aa they turned for home. Affectation dropping back beaten, whl'e Old Gold and Zola drew up gradually. Lovematch appeared to have Moutoa Ivanovo's measure at the distance, but the Foxtou unare came again and got the best of a punishing finish by half a length. Old Quid * lengths away third, followed by Zola and Nobleman, with Affectation a bad i&st. Sltnon and Better Luck, who both started enrlirt in the day, were the only abssntees from the Pukehou Hack Welter. Public support mainly centred on Rlalrigham nnt! Seit Alliance. All moved off together, and when ttey settled down Empyrean was leading tftuwai and Persian Prince. The trio were together at the four furlongs, and Se;f Alliance was tho flrst to go after theun. Rlalncham also reduced the gap running !o the turn. Empyrean stalled off Self Alliance, but could not withstand Risingham-s final rush, the favorite winning in fine style from Bn-.ryrean, Self Alliance, TTtuwat and l'-rslcn! Prince, who finished lit that order. Elsinghsm's good performance was enthusiastically received. The withdrawal of Moutoa Ivanora and Old Gold left six runners in the R&uranl Welter All Over was odds on favorite, with Tirana the bfst backed of the others. Gray at once rushed Tirana to the front and left Bal'.ar.d alpng 'hi back with All Over well back. Ail Ov»r put In his run three furlonga from home and drew level with Tirana at tho distance. The pair were fighting out a great finish when lialliind jodned In and Alt Over, Rnilaiid and Tirana crossed tho line In that order, rerk.", apart. Gold Problem was four. l !. Irapuka and Valley Rose were the only defect.ons from the Farewell Scurry, eleven belnc saddled up. Quiniro was backed down under evens, and Ruddy and Flying Master were the best backed of the others. Aftor a long delay at tho barrier the field went off In fair order, Flying Master, Quiniro, Wliotokl, and Ruddy being the order to the straight Flying Master stuck on gamely to the finish, and though Ruddy and Quiniro challenged hotly Flying Master got the verdict by the barest of heads. Quiniro, half a length away, was third, and Sea Foam fourth.
