Irwin ) Crookes), the Wanganui Borough Coun- - eil has decided to secure all the neces- . sary data in regard to the early de- • velopment of a hydro-electric power 3 source on the Wangaehu Pviver. It has been ascertained that by a dam on the - river, llOflO horse power can be secured. The scheme provides for a submerged power station in the dam, which is the first of its kind in the British Empire.
