NEW PLYMOUTH AND HAWERA. By Telegraph.—Press Association. j Wellington, Last Night. The Prime Minister made the follow- [ ing statement as to the progress on | dwellings in the course of erection, or being arranged for, throughout the Dominion under the housing scheme: — Now Plymouth.—A contract has been 1 let for the erection of six dwellings. 1 The builder commenced upon the work ■ last week, and arrangements are now being made for the erection of a further I thirteen dwellings in this town. Hawera.—Contracts have been let for thft erection of oleven dwellings. The i builder is to commence on these dwcll- • ings during next week. Negotiations • are proceeding for the erection of a , further number of dwellings in this j town. Contracts have also been let for the erection of houses as follows:—Wellington, 113; Auckland, 17 at Ellerslie; • Wanganui, 12; Masterton, 8 dwellings 1 being erected; Christchureh 4, and ten- ■ dera called for 75 more; Oamaru, 8; i Nelson, 4. " The above represents 183 dwellings , now in course of erection, and 122 for i which arrangements are proceeding, a , total of 30.). It is hoped to make ari rangements for the erection of dwellings in Hamilton, Morrinsville, Te Awamutu, Te Kuitif Taibape, and Rotorua. ''l am strongly of opinion that more building is now going on in the Dominion than at any time in its history," adds the Prme Minister.
