PROCEEDS OF ROBBERY POUND PIECING THE CRIME TOGETHER, • By Telegraph—Press AssocUtlou. Auckland, Last Night. As a result of investigations in connte* tion with the Ponsonby murder, tbe police found, among a dense growth of blackberries in a' gully off Howe Street, three large calibre revolvers, a largo quantity of ammunition, a burglar's jemmy, about £25 in money, Braitawaite's private keys of his office and of the strong-room of the post office, a key to the front door of his residence, a excelled postal note known to be part of the . proceeds of the robbery, and ft five-pound note. Only one five-pound note was stolen from the Post Office. These articles were in three canvfcs bags, two being such as banks u»e lor holding coin, and the third itwwbVag a burglar's sandbag. - . The detectives now conclude that Braithwaite was standing with Ma baric to the door when the burglars entertd; and he had finished winding the cloak when the first shot was fired. It missed him and entered the mantelpiece. Th|a he turned and faced the door, when ke received two shots, which killed him.
