TENTATIVE PROPOSALS MADE. DESTINY OF THE SULTAN. By Telegraph.—Preis Asnn—CopyrljM. Washington, March 16. The Allied Governments liave asked 'the United States to participate in the Turkish Treaty. It is. believed that the Allies have submitted to the United .States certain tentative proposals, •whereby the Sultan will be allowed to oremain at an independent Armenia created, and an International Comtarission control the Straits. if is not yet known whether recent developments in Cilicia will influence these proposals, but it is understood President Wilson will state categorically the attitude of the United States, especially on the question of the Sultan's remaining at Constantinople, which he .is loawn to oppose.—Aus.-WZ.
