THE HORAHORA SCHEME. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Waihi, Last Night. The Minister for Public- Works and Mr. Birks, Chief Electrical Engineer, conferred with representatives of the Hamilton Borough Council, and the Waikato, Cambridge, Te Awamutu, and Thames Valley Power Boards regarding the allocation of electricity available from the Horaliora. The Borough is given 300 horse-power; Thames Valley 000,-'Te Awamutu, GOO; Cambridge, 200; Waihi Borough, 50; Waikato, 350; (Mid reserved for special industries 500. A WANGANUI SCHEME. Wanganui, Last Night. The Wanganui Borough Council tonight decided to take steps to borrow £250,000 to develop a hydro-electric power source on the Wangaelm River, about thirty miles from Wangamii. Reports by expert's indicate the source will provide 2fiof) horse-power. The Council's action i-i influenced by the knowledge that it will be some years before the Government scheme at Mangaliao is developed.
