YESTERDAY'S SITTING. RAILING TO ATTEND DRILL, | In tlie Magistrate's Court at New Plymouth yesterday, before Mr. T. A. B. Bailey, S.M., D. Prestney and H. Hedley were fined 40s (costs 7s) >for failing to attend parades of No. A Coy. of the 11th (Taranaki) Regiment of Territorials, R. Kdgeeoiribe was fined 20s (costs 7s) and V. >S. Pruden, J. Wooller and Nelson Moore were convicted and discharged for similar offences. BREACH OF BY-LAWS. In the ease of the Borough Inspector (Mr. R. Day) v. Win. Harris (Mr. C. H. Croker) for a breach of the by-law for plying for hire as a taxi uriver from a Btand other than an authorised taxi-stand, which had been adjourned from, the previous week, the Magistrate, after hearing the evidence, entered a conviction and imposed a fine of £1 (costs 9s). THROWING STONES. Two boys were brought before the Magistrate in the Juvenile Court on charges of throwing stones to the dangar of the house of Mr. Alexander Binnie. After admonishing the offenders the Magistrate convicted them and ordered them to come up for Bentence when called upon.
