ENGINEER ASSAULTED By Telegraph.—Press Association. March 17. At the Lyttelton Magistrate's Court, James Nieol, second engineer of the Opihi, pleaded guilty to a charge of assaulting Percy Hunter, chief engineer, striking him on the head with a water bottle, causing a severe gash. Accused was fined £o and expenses, in default one month's imprisonment. The charge was brought under the Crimes Act, but was reduced to one of common assault.
