MORE COAL.

: INCREASE IN PRODUCTION. ! MORE MEN AND FULL WORK. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The coal position is improving. Mr. William Reece, who has returned from the West Coast, says the output is increasing and the men are working well. The Welsh miners arc now at work, said Mr. Reece, and after getting used to tha different conditions will settle down without trouble. The daily output at tho WcstportStoekton mine towards the end of the low period was under 400 tons, and last week the average was !i7G tons a day, 3453 tons in all—a distinct improvement. That was partly due to the extra men working nnd partly to the end of the "goslow" policy. "Of course," he added, "we expect it will take some little time before tilings are adjusted."
