Later he joined the staff of tho Savings Bank Department of the London Post. Office, and remained in the service seven years and a half. He came lmck to New Zealand in JSBI, and soon after arrival was appointed to the staff of the Government Insurance Department by the late Sir Harry Atkinson (then Major Atkinson), Colonial Treasurer. In ISSO, Mr. Hudson became secretary to the department. On the retirement of Mr. D. if. Luckie in 190!), lie was promoted Deputy-Commissioner, a position which he has held ever since ia addition to his secretarial duties.
