Loan'and Mercantile Agency Co, Ltd. (Stratford), report as, follows: On February 27th we held our annual Puniwhakau sheep fair in Mr. Tlios. Haye's yards (by his permission), and notwithstanding the continued wet weather, which prevented several flocks being mustered, tho yards were full. Numerous lines of cattle wore offered, find some disposed of. The following are tho prices realised: 4 and 6-tooth ewes 265; ewes, in good condition, 27s Cd; 4-tooth maiden ewes, 24s lOd; 3 and 4-year ewes, ((■mall), 17s 3d; cull ewes, f.m. 12s 6d to 17s fid; f.m. ewes fat and forward, 265; 4 and C-tooth wethers, £1 4s; fat and forward wethers 28s; culls, 16s; lambs, 14s 6d; rams, (culls) 17s; 18-month heifers, £6 17s; steers, £3 12s Od. Private sales.—At private sales we realised the following prices: Cattle —SO-month heifers, £4 7s 6(1 to £4 ICs; 3 to 4-year bullocks, £l4 Cs; springing heifers, fl!) to £l2 10s; dairy cows, £ls to £2O; 20-month steers, £4 5s to £5.
