THE ALLIES "CLIMB DOWN." BITTER FRENCH CRITICISM, Received March 11, 3.20 p.m. Paris, March 9 The Matin bitterly criticises the climb down of the Allies, who under M. Millerand's signature demanded the surrender of nine hundred war criminals, and who have now capitulated under Mr. Lloyd George's signature and agreed to allow Germany to try the accused. Germany will think, says the Matin, that France alone wants reparation from the country which plunged the whole world into war.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn
