Stefansson, the Arctic explorer, addressing members of Parliament, outlined a scheme for breeding reindeer in North Canada with a view to adding to the meat supplies. He proposed the assignment of five thousand square miles of territory for ten years, without taxation or expectation of revenue, as a breeding area. He estimated meat could be produced at a total cost of two cents a pound, and could be sold in New York at sixty cents. Tt is believed the Government will adopt the scheme —Aus - N.Z. Cable Assn.
