TENNIS.
BRITISH TENNIS PLAYERS. VISIT OF BEAMISH AND LOWE. Two of tho members of the British Davis tup team. Beamish and Lowe, will arrive in Wellington by the Moeraki from Sydney about March 15 for the purpose of playing a series of matches prior to their return to Engjand. The president, of the New Zealand Lawn lennis Association (Mr. H. M. Gore) states tbat tho first match will be against a Canterbury provincial team at Christehurch about March 20. The visitors will then go cn '•> D ">i«<Un to play an exhibition match against Olivier, the New Zealand champion, ?,",,,? best otn S° Ptoyer. Returning to Wellington they will meet a New Zealand teami, consisting of Ollivler and Peacock, on baturday, March 27, and on the same evening will be entertained at dinner by the New Zealand Association. The final match will be played in Auckland about April 3, against an Auckland provincial team.
A most enjoyable afternoon was spent on the Kaponga tennis courts on Saturday, when Manala met and defeated the local players, after a really keen contest, by 118 games
