TOKO. (From Our Own Correspondent) Whether Maorlland is streaking to perdition hanging to the tail of a landboom or not. Is a matter which time will decide. Hitherto tho production value of this country has been governed by the purchasing power of tho British workmen, and if the present standard of living in England is maintained, then land values here are still within the safety line, but, if they .we not, then there 13 a busy time ahead of the Official Assignee. The Toko Hotel has changed hands. If anyone Is under the delusion that mangolds cannot be grown in Toko, a visit to Mr. W. H. Were's farm would bring about a change of opinion, as the crop promises a record yield. An able and ambitious little Toko lady has won a Taranakl scholarship, Molly, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. Kllpatrlck, for many years residents of Toko, having secured the coveted honor. The win Is a most popular won The teacher, Mr. O. L. Allen, the parents and the pupil are all In receipt of the heartiest congratulations.
