PUNGAREHU. (From Our Own Correspondent.) A meeting of shareholders and suppliers cf the Cape Egmont Dairy Factory was liald in the local hall, on Wednesday afternoon last to discuss the method of eolebrating the opening of the company's new general storo. Mr. M. Mealing, presided. It was decided that a sports meeting, etc., he held on the opening day, which is expected to take place In the courso of a week or two. Those present formed themselves Into a committee. Weather and other conditions point, to o very successful outing at Warea on the )o>th inst. The Hall Committee, who hnvc, arranged a local gala, aro malting every effort to eclipse the usual success which has attended all other efforts to raise funds for hall purposes. lteferen.ee was made, at. tile meeting of the shareholders and suppliers of the Caoe Egmont Dairy Company to the condition of the local hall, which badly requires enlarging and renovating. The chairman suggested that any balance that remains over from their sports meeting be handed over to the Hall Committee for this much needed purpose. All local folks who were in at the show on Thursday last vote It. the best, show ever held at Xew Plymouth. A large number of motor cars, etc, passen through here on Saturday en route to New Plymouth to witness the motor-cycle race meeting. The number of summer time visitors lo Pungarelm has been* quite up to that or previous years. Whilst many have now left for their homes there are still a few remaining in the district. Mr. A. P. Waters, surveyor, Now Plymouth, is at presant in Pungarelm and Is engaged surveying another portion of the Parlhaka Block for soldiers' settlement. hi the latest hospital and progress report Mr. D. O'Drlscoll is reported to ho making gend progress. .Mr and Mrs. H. Ehrh/>ru and family are at present enjoying a Short holiday at Palnicrstnn North.' .Miss R Orbell, bf Motonul, Is spending a short holiday at her home in Pungarelm.
