STOLEN MOTOR CAR. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Te Kuiti, March 5. At the Magistrate's Court this morning Andrew Lind and Duncan M'Lean were charged with the theft of a new Hupmobiie motor and were fined £lO each or two months' imprisonment. They went to gaol.
MINERS' WAGES. Wellington, March 5. Mr. Arbuckle, secretary o.f the Miners' Federation, states that the minimum wage of 12s per shift granted to miners carries with it a bonus of OP per cent., bringing the minimum to 19s Gd. THE PRICE OP HIDES. Napier, March 5. A meeting of the Hawke's Bay Tannery Company this morning decided to request the Premier to look more closely into the question of making an export duty on hides with the view of protecting local industries and keeping the price of leather down. A tax of 4<\ to fid per lb. on all hides exported to "the United States is suggested.
