ALLEGED THEFT.
FURTHER CHARGES ACAINST THE MAGONS MAGISTRATE ALLOWS BAIL. Several further charges were preferred in the Magistrate's Court yesterday against the Magon Bros., who were arrested on Monday last in connection with allegations of theft from a number of residents in the Coastal districts between Okato and Pungarehu. The charges yesterday included one of breaking and entering the blacksmith's shop at Warea. Sub-Inspector Hutton appeared for the police, and asked for a further remand till Thursday week. Mr. Quilliara represented the accused and asked if His Worship would consider the question of bail. Mr. Bailey said except for the breaking and- entering charge the men were entitled to bail as of right. Sub-Inspector Hutton said lie would not now oppose bail, but asked that it should: be substantial and that the bondsmen should be approved by the policeBail was then fixed in sureties of £2OO in the case of each accused, or two suretjes each, of £IOO each.
