A.I.F. TEAM. NO VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. A special meeting of the management, committee of the New Zealand Cricket Council was held to-night to consider a proposal for a visit to New Zealand ot the Australian military forces cricket team. The team would be a »trong one, but would be only three or four weeks in the Dominion. The chairman said he was afraid a tour could not bo ranged owing to the lateness 01 the season and the Impossibility of making arrangements In time. Several other members of the Council expressed similar views, and It was eventually decided to Send a reply stating that while in sympathy with the proposal It was regretted tSiat arrangements could not be made. SCHOOLS MATCH. WANQANUI v. NEW PLYMOUTH. The New Plymouth Boys' High School first e erem goes to Wanganul to-day to play the anoua.l match against Wanganul Collegiate School, commencing to-morrow. It Is holped that the match will be completed sufficiently early on Saturday to allow the team to return to New Plymouth by the mall train. Mr. C. 0. B6ltrill will be in charge of the team and the players will be as follow: Hine (captain), Rreiner (rice-captain), O'Halloran, Wl lis, Osborne, Sinclair, Brown, Pope, Smart, Palmer, Inch. Twelfth man: Lash. TO-DAY'S MATCHES POSTPONED. The Thursday competition matches have been postponed this week owing to the a<rlcultural show, f THE SATURDAY COMPETITION. The second and final round of the Saturday senior fixtures having been completed on Saturday last, there will be no senior matches this week. Junior jnateihes set down for Saturday nest will be played as already drawn.
