HIDES AND TALLOW. Messrs. DaJget}-, Wellington, report as follows : Tho first sole under the new conditions was held on February 20, when we subnllttcd a large catalogue to a lull attendance of buyers. Stout ux and cow hides were keenly competed tor at ail advance of 3d to 4d per lb on Deiaemherr amotion rates. Yearlings and kl])s showed only a slight advance, but sound calfskins increased to lOd per lb, as much us 48d per lb being paid.
