HIDES AND TALLOW. Messrs. DaJget}-, Wellington, report as follows : Tho first sole under the new conditions was held on February 20, when we subnllttcd a large catalogue to a lull attendance of buyers. Stout ux and cow hides were keenly competed tor at ail advance of 3d to 4d per lb on Deiaemherr amotion rates. Yearlings and kl])s showed only a slight advance, but sound calfskins increased to lOd per lb, as much us 48d per lb being paid. We give below list of prices realised and for comparison we are also detailing particulars of tlio old schedule at which prices tanners hud previously the right of selecting 50 per cent, of the offerings.
