. EXIT A GOOD SPORTSMAN. Exit Walter Young, sportsman and good follow. Who In Taxanakl did not know and like Walter? .Very few. His was a familiar flguro all over the province, and particularly on the Walmate Plains and In New Plymouth. In his day he played quite an Important part in the sporting world. He owned Cuckoo. Coralto, Crimson Streak, Contoy and other horses that figured .mote or less prominently on the racing track. He was at his best in adversity—always game and confident. Generous natured he was at all times, and many a kind action he did unknown to the world. Ho left New Plymouth about four years ago to run a farm In the Pialto during the absenco on military service of a noiphew. A few months ago he took bad, and really never recovered, the Immediate cause of death being Brlght's disease. He was buried at Auckland on Sunday alongside the grave of his father, who for over forty years was Collector or Customs at Auckland. His half-brother, W. S, father of the young boys, well known all over the province, died two or three years ago. They lived different lives did these halfbrothers, but ihey possessed two things in common—generous Instincts and a. great love for their fellow men. Thci country is the poorer by their going.
