Renrdon contended that since the last award was made in 1017 the cost of living had risen roughly 28 per cent I his was based on the rise in the three main food groups and the relative value of the sovereign. For the employers" Mr. Grenfell submitted that the table showed 20 per rent, increase in the cost of living since i»li. If an abnormal increase was granted to the operators it would place them on a higher level than other workers. No agreement had been reached at the luncheon adjournment
