THE PARLIAMENTARY PARTY. WANTS OF RAROTGNGA. By Telegraph— Press Association. 'Wellington, March 1. A wireless message from Karotonga says that Europeans on Friday motored the Parliamentary party over the beautiful road circling Rarotonga. The party subsequently inspected the plantations, the process of copra making, and the parade of returned soldiers. Sir James Allen presented Rarotonga with a German gun. An important result was gained when the Arikis, after considering Sir James Allen's suggestion on Thursday, fiigned a document in the presence of members invitin!» European representation on the Island Council, conditional on liquqr prohibition and the law against cohabitation applying to whites equally with natives. There were many signs of goodwill at this gathering. The party is leaving for Aitutaki on Saturday. ' Tho 'traders bitterly complained of insulting treatment by the Government Agent, who made a spirited reply and accused the traders of smuggling spirits ashore The proceedings became quite dramatic.
