MILITARY CLOTHING.
WHOLESALE DESTRUCTION ALLEGED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Chiistehurch, Last Night. The following resolutions were passed to-day at a mass meeting ai Addington: — (1) That this mass meeting of Addington workshop employees desires to express its profound dissatisfaction at the prolonged delay in making known Mr. Justice Stringer's verdict in the recent inquiry regarding wages, and we urge the executive to take immediate action, and ■we will support them in whatever'action they may take, {z) That we view with grave alarm the rumored wanton destruction of clothing by the military authorities. Six weeks ago they canvassed the workshops for orders for the sale of these articles, and cash was. demanded with the order. We now understand the authorities have cancelled the orders received, and are chopping the garments- up and selling them at 34d per lb for rags. We demand a public enquiry.
