THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL.
FAREWELLED AT CHRISTCHURCH. By Telegraph.-'Prcss Association. Christchurch, Last Night. Farewell addresses and presentations to the Governor-General and the Countess of Liverpool were given at a large gathering of citizens in the City Council Chambers to-day. In acknowledging the gifts, the Gov-ernor-General said New Zealand's wonderful work during the war had impressed him, and he was proud of her loyalty and unswerving devotion. He wished New Zealand every success in future, not forgetting the rising generation, who Were following in the steps of their forefathers, and doing what was Tight and best for their King and Empire.
