PRINTING TRADE.
CONDITION'S OF NEW AWARD, By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, March 1. A conference between the representaof employers and workers in all departments of the printing trade except the typographical section, which commenced on Thursday morning, concluded to-day. An agreement was reached on all points except in two minor ones, which were referred to the Conciliation Council. The main provisions were: Hours of work, day 4"), night 42; wages of journeymen, " book-binders, paper rulers, letterpress and litho machinists £1 17,-, Cd. including 10s fid bonus in cities and towns with a population of over 5000; £4 10s Cd, including 10s '6d bonus for workers in towns of 5000 population and under; female workers from 17s fid for the first six months, to 45s after four years. Overtime and holiday work from 3s 3d to fis (id per hour;'night workers, 10 per cent, extra. Rotary machinists, one week's holiday at full pay; other holidays not paid for. In the definition of journeymen bookbinders the work of making end papers is excluded. The agreement has a currency of two years from April 2.
