VISIT OF THE PRINCE.
BATTLE-CRUISER RENOWN. BERTHING AT AUCKLAND. An offer to berth the battle-cruiser Renown at Auckland, when she arrives with the Prince of Wales on April 17, which Ims been made by the Auckland lliii'lior Board, lias been 'accepted by the naval authorities. The Renown will be berthed on the eastern side of the Queen's Wharf, where H.M.R. New Zealand was accommodated dnrinjr Lord Jellieoe's visit- The event, will he one of considerable importance in the history of the port, as' the Renown will be the largest ship that has ever entered the port. Her lenplh is 7!Wr, and she will occupy praetieallv the whole of the eastern 'side of the wharf. She has a 103 ft beam and » depth of 31ft. with a tonnage of 20,300.' 11.M.5. New Zealand, with a length of pift. is the largest vessel that has been ' berthed in Auckland to date. The next in size that have been berthed there are A th'> While Star steamers Medic, Suevie, and Runic, which visited Auckland dur-: ■ in« the war. Thev are each 570 ft in length.
