COLLISION WITH A TRAIN.
A DANGER TO THE PUBLIC. A CORONER'S COMMENTS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. Mr. Widdowsou, thV Coroner, to-day finished the inquest concerning the death of Mis. Maggie Edith Tilbury, owing to injuries sustained through a collision between a train and a motor-car at Mosgicl on January 12. No facts other than those already reported were elicited, Mr. Tilbury, the driver of the motor-car. being unable, throuzh impaired memory, to give any evidence. The Coroner found that the deceased died from shock following a fracture of (lie skull through being thrown from a motor-car which had been hit 'by n railway engine and had collided with cattle. I He added as a rider, that this and other accidents having demonstrated the danger to the public, the Railway Department should immediately take steps to have effective action taken to safeguard the public.
