VISIT OF THE PRINCE.
NEW PLYMOUTH ARRANGEMENTS. The Finance Committee o! thf Borough Council is now making arrangements for a suitable welcome to the Prince of Wales on his visit to New Plymouth on the morning of April 23. It is proposed that on the arrival of the Royal train at nine o'clock the Prince will be formally received at the station, and will then drive to Pukekura Park, accompanied by a mounted eecort. At the park a public welcome will he given and an address presented", the text ■ of which has been drawn up and will be submitted to the Council for approval. The Prince will be presented to the chairmen of local bodies in the district and to their wives, and special arrangements will be made to enable His Royal Highness to see school children, returned fcoldiers, and. • veterans. This function will occupy moat of the ttaae available—the Prince is due to leave for Inglewood at 11.30 o'clock— but, if possible, it is hoped he will visit the Hospital, especially to see returned soldiers there, and • other public institutions. The finance Committee is seeking further information from the Government Y in regard to the visit, and 'will nubmlt its ' proposals to the Council before the programme is announced.
