ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
LINESMAN ELECTROCUTED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Feb. 2G. An inquest concerning the death of Albert Olsen, electrocuted while engaged in repairing a telephone wire on the Tinakori Hills on Monday last, is being held. Medical evidence was that Olsen was electrocuted, death being immediate. Evidence was given that Olsen hauled down a wire which had eangtot, and the wire had supposedly come In contact with the electric, light wire, the insulated covering of which had in part been worn away. It was stated that gloves were served out. to linesmen, but it was optional whether they were worn or not As a matter of fact the wires could not be properly handled with gloves. The coroner returned a verdict that deceased had died as the result of handling a telephone wire wllieh had come into contact with another wire charged with high voltage.
