Lord Crawford stated the Allied High Commissioners at Constantinople received no details of Armenian massacres in Gilieia, though there were many rumors of numbers killed on both sides. The Government were informed that the French inflicted heavy losses on Turkish irregulars at Marash. General Gouraud sent important reinforcements, which, it wa? hoped, would be sufficient to control the position. The whole matter was being discussed by the Supreme Council, which was fully alive to the gravity of the situation. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
