Feb. 2G, At the Whangamomona County Council meeting on Monday, O. Stockwcll, the new member, was cordially welcomed by the chairman. The Council voted £lO to the Stratford Hospital X-Ray fund. The inquest concerning the death of Neil Hansen, as the result of a motor accident, was concluded to-day, a verdict being returned that deceased's death was due to natural causes, accelerated by the accident, no blame being attached to the rider of the motor cycle. The Whangamomona Council is endeavoring to obtain a new valuation of the County. A man named John Callaghan was admitted to the hospital yesterday, suffering from injuries due to motor cycling. In spite of the threatening weather, there were about a thousand passengers by the first train carrying the school excursionists to the New Plymouth beach, twenty-three cars being required for the purpose. A large number followed by the next train. About 1500 tickets were sold. A suggestion was made by Mr. Stevenson at the recent meeting of the Taranaki War Relief Association that instead of monthly meetings being held, the routine business should be transacted by a small committee.
