BIG ADVANCE AT SALES. By Telegraph.- -Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The first auction sales of hides under the newly-gazetted regulations showed a sensational advance in prices of those submitted. Messrs. A'fred Bucklawl and Sons report that record price.', for their store were received on Tuesday for ox and eow-ludes of good grades. Eight ox hides in one lot made a record net price of £44 its 7d, or 20d per pound. Other lines of ox hides averaged from £4 4s to £4 12s net each, or from Ifld to 20d per pound. Cow-hides weighing 451b and over averaged £3 5s net each, or lSd per pound. One stout ox hide made £o 18s 4d at net weight. Supplies are short according to exporters' and tanners' requirements, and prices are sure to rule higher.
