VISITORS TO BATTLEFIELDS.
TOURS TO BE ARRANGED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyrlcht. London, Feb. 23. In view of the anticipated rush of visitors to the battlefields and cemeteries in France and Belgium during the coming spring and summer, it ia probable the Graves Commission, in order to protect visitors from excessive charges, will give their approval to various conducted tours by tourist and other organisations.
The Australian and New Zealand authorities decline to undertake general tours of the battlefields, but will facilitate bereaved relatives visiting graves The proposal to acquire hostels, as cabled, on October 23, has been abandoned. Australia House has now completed arrangements with the Y.MC.A. to reserve twelve beds at their chateaux at Ypres, Amiens, and possibly at Poperinglie and elsewhere as necessary, Australian visitors will be Accommodated for a'maximum of two nights a't 7% francs for becl and breakfast. Parties will leave London thrice weekly. Transport represents the chief difficulty, but it is hoped arrangements will be made to secure Red Cross vehicles. The scheme will be available on March 1.
New Zealand has appointed Chaplain Molyneaux to Teceive New Zcalandcvs at Boulogne and direct them as regards the best means of reaching the graves, but. does not undertake to conduct visi-tors.—Aus.-NZ. Cable Assn.
