POSTMASTER ADMITS THEFT.

Hairy Leonard Mathews, postmaster Edendale, was charged with the theft tt £3OO paid him by a fanner to inTest in the War Loan. The accused admitted the offence, stating he had been heavily involved through betting, Wd would replace the amount. The ac•Med was committed for sentence.
