Mr. Samuel Gompers (the Labor leader) has announced that the American Federation of Labor is opposed to the formation of a Labor Party. He said the effect of a separate political Labor Party can only be disastrous to wageearners of the country and the interests of all people. There is no hope of the success of Labor Party candidates, for then Labcriies would defeat friends and elect enemies.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
