There wore no shipping movements at the port during the week end, and yesterday ■morning there were still four steamers at the wharf. The Walmea completed discharge of her coal and sailed for Westport shortly after mid-day, the Ngatoro commenced to discharge cement, and tlie Olaucus continued to unload truano. The former Is not expected to finish to-day, and tho hitter may leave towards the end of the v.e:!;. The heavy demand on the available trucks has hampered operations to some extent. Tho Baden Powell was expected to sail for Wellington during last night. THE Kt'lA. The Hula left Wellington last evening with a full cargo of benzlnj for New Plymouth. She will arrive In time to discharge on Wednesday. THE BADEN POWELL. MISHAP ON WAY FROM WELLINGTON. I! appears that a slight m'.shap occurred to the Baden Powell on her way up from Wellington to New Plymouth las; week. Though the authorities are reticent, It is generally understood that the \ essel came In contact with r.ome object to tho south of Cape Egmont by which the propeller blades were bent, and In consequence of this tho vessel was not allowed to re-sail for Wellington on Saturday. The fear was that the vessel's speed would he reduced so that a eering would bo unreliable, notwilSislmdiirc that the remainder of the Journey northward, after the occurrence, was completed without difficulty. Yesterday afternoon the Baden Powell was hauled upon the hard sand so that ul low tide the repairs could bo effected. It was hoped that the vessel would be ready to proceed to Wellington about midnight last night. U.S S. CO'S VESSELS. The Mapourika left? Lyttelton at 230 p m on Saturday with 278 tons of cargo for New Plymouth. She calls at Wellington and Is due here to-morrow. Tho Koklri left Grcyniouth at noon on Sunday for New Plymouth via Wellington, and will probably arrive here on Wednesday, night.
