' At the Wellington Provincial Amatent; Athletic meeting to-day there was an attendance of 4,000, and big fields com-' peted. The McVilly Challenge Shield was won by the Wellington. Amateur. Athletic Club (C2 points), with Wairaxapa (37 points) secondW. Candy (of Masterton) won the 220 yards championship, with N. A. J. Bar« ker, the preseub champion, second. The half mile flat went to F, NegdaW. (of Wanganui), with W. J. Burke (of Wellington) second. The three mile run was won in good style by A, Wycth (of Masterton), with <' J- J.
