NEW ZEALAND'S PATRIOTISM.
TRIBUTE BY GOVERNOR-GENERAL. By Telegraph.—l'ress Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The Governor-General was entertained at dinner to-night by the officers of the Canterbury Military District. In the course of his response to the toast of Irs health, Lord Liverpool said: "I shall leave New Zealand with the happiest. recollections of my associations with its military forces, feeling certain that, should an occasion again arise for a call to be made for its citizens to assist the Empire, its sons will not he found wanting in coming forward, and giving the maximum that lies in their power to uphold the traditions handed down to them by their forefathers to maintain the honor of their race and flag."
