INGLEWOOD.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Three fine residences have just been completed for Mr. Cutfield, Mr. J. Ciubs, and Mr. W. Thomas respectively. Mr. Newton King is having a fine large motor garage erected at the back of his mart. Last week three- weddings were celebrated, and two more, it is reported, are on the tapis. The Prince of Wales will stay five minutes in Inglewood. This, short period as it is, Will give many an opportunity of seeing our future Monarch who tt'ould otherwise not be able to do so. Stationers, etc., are at present doing good business with the younger generation in the shape of books, slates, pencils, etc. Some are not looking too pleased about it, either. One school-boy said that the "flu" scare would do him! Most of the hay crops around this district have now been harvested. Those who saved their hay during the past flno week had better luck than those with earlier crops. Some roads in the district are in splendid order, but there are a few by-roads in a wretched state. The Borough Council foreman is at present engaged in improving the footpaths of several of our main streets. The Council has other works and improvements in view which, when carried out, will be a considerable improvement to the town. Mr. C. Longstaff was driving to his home on King Road on Saturday evening, when, at a steep place, the vehicle turned over and threw him out. Mr. Longstaff, however, held on to the reins, and undid the harness, whereupon the vehicle rolled to the bottom of the hill, sustaining a good deal of damage. The condition of this road is very bad indeed, and should be seen to.
